Three steps to a filled PDF

You don't need to create an account or install anything. Just follow these three steps.

Upload your PDF

Click the 📄 Upload PDF button at the top of the page and choose your file from your computer.

Fill it in

Click any field to type into it. Add extra text or checkmarks anywhere on the page using the toolbar buttons.

Download

Click 💾 Export Flattened PDF and your finished file saves straight to your computer.

Filling existing form fields

If the PDF already has form fields built in, they appear as interactive boxes with a faint amber outline.

Text fields

Click anywhere inside the amber-outlined text field. A cursor appears — just start typing. Click outside when done.

Checkboxes

Click the checkbox to tick it. Click it again to untick. It's that simple.

Radio buttons

Click any option in a radio-button group to select it. Selecting a new option automatically deselects the previous one.

No form fields?

If the PDF doesn't have built-in fields, use Add Text to type over it instead.

Adding a text box

Place typed text anywhere on any page — great for forms that don't have built-in fields.

Activate the Add Text tool

Click 📝 Add Text in the toolbar. It turns amber. Your cursor changes to a crosshair over the page.

Click where you want to type

Click anywhere on the PDF page. A text box with a blue border appears at that spot, ready to receive your text.

Type your text

Start typing immediately. Press Enter for a new line. The box grows taller automatically as you type more.

Move or resize if needed

Switch to 🔍 Select (or press Esc), then drag the box border to move it. Drag the small blue handle in the bottom-right corner to change the width.

Delete if you change your mind

Hover over any text box and click the red × button that appears in the top-right corner.

Add as many boxes as you need. You can place multiple text boxes on the same page. Stay in Add Text mode and keep clicking to create more.

Adding a checkmark ✓

Place a ✓ anywhere on the page — useful for marking choices on printed-style forms or confirming items on lists.

Activate Add Check

Click ✅ Add Check in the toolbar. The button turns amber.

Click the spot you want to mark

A ✓ symbol inside a blue square appears at that position.

Resize it to fit

Hover over the checkmark, then drag the small blue handle in the bottom-right corner. Drag toward bottom-right to enlarge; toward top-left to shrink.

Move it into place

Switch to 🔍 Select, then drag the checkmark body to the exact position you need.

Changing font style and size

Each text box can have its own size, bold and italic setting. Set the style before you start typing, or change it for an existing box at any time.

Font size

Type a number in the size box (6–96). The text box updates as you type.

Bold

Click the B button to toggle bold. It turns amber when active.

Italic

Click the I button to toggle italic. Amber means it's on.

Changing font for an existing box. Select the text box first (click its border in Select mode), then adjust the font controls. The box updates instantly.

Undo and Redo

Made a mistake? Step back with Undo. Changed your mind? Step forward with Redo. Up to 20 actions are remembered.

↪ Redo

Del

Undo does not track typing. If you make a typo inside a text box, use Ctrl+Z while the cursor is inside the box. The toolbar Undo tracks moves, resizes, and deletions only.

Downloading your finished PDF

When everything looks right, click Export and your completed PDF saves directly to your computer.

Check everything looks right

Scroll through all pages. Make sure all fields are filled and your text / checkmarks are in the right places.

Click 💾 Export Flattened PDF

Find this button at the far right of the toolbar. It's greyed out until a PDF is loaded.

Wait a moment

A loading screen appears briefly while the PDF is prepared. For most documents this takes just a second or two.

Your browser saves the file

A file named yourfile_flattened.pdf saves to your Downloads folder. Open it to confirm everything looks good.

Export before closing the tab. Your work is not saved automatically. If you close or refresh the browser tab, all changes will be lost.

Your document stays private

The PDF is read from your computer directly into your browser. Nothing is sent to any server. When you download the finished file, it comes from your own browser — not from the internet.

FAQ

Answers to the questions we get most often.

Your PDF is a flat image of a form rather than an interactive one. Use 📝 Add Text to place text boxes directly on top of the printed field areas. Position and resize them until they line up, then export.
No. PDF Editor only lets you add new content on top of existing pages. It cannot remove or change text already in the PDF. For that you'd need a desktop application like Adobe Acrobat.
No. Everything happens inside your own browser. Your PDF is never transmitted anywhere. Even the final download comes directly from your browser — not from the internet.
Minor font rendering differences between browsers and PDF viewers are normal. Try adjusting the font size by 1–2 points and re-exporting. Open the PDF at 100% zoom for the most accurate view.
Not directly. You'll need to remove the password using the original application or a desktop PDF tool, then upload the unlocked file here.
Unfortunately, no. The editor holds everything in browser memory for the duration of your visit. When the tab closes, that memory is cleared. Always export before closing.
Yes. Touch dragging and resizing are fully supported. Tablets work best because the page is large enough to tap accurately. On phones you may need to pinch-zoom to hit small targets comfortably.
Yes, as many times as you like. Each export re-builds the PDF from scratch using your latest edits, so you can keep refining and re-downloading until it's perfect.
